About the Journal
International Journal of Geopolitical Studies (IJGS), established in 2026, is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to critical and interdisciplinary analyses of global political and geopolitical dynamics, with particular attention to structures of power, knowledge, and governance shaping contemporary world orders.
IJGS is grounded primarily in critical, postcolonial, and political economy perspectives, while engaging with Marxist, post-structural, and alternative governance traditions. The journal places special emphasis on the critical examination of dominant geopolitical systems and the scholarly exploration of alternative political and governance models in historical and contemporary contexts.
The journal adopts an interdisciplinary approach that integrates philosophy, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, religious studies, and related fields as interconnected analytical tools for understanding the normative foundations, institutional practices, and social consequences of geopolitical processes. IJGS is published biannually in May and November.
All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process in which the identities of authors and reviewers are mutually anonymous, ensuring academic integrity, methodological rigor, and intellectual independence.
